Project

Greater Sydney’s Social Connection Indicators

Project overview

The objective of Greater Sydney’s Social Connection Indicators project was to compare the conditions that enable social connection across Greater Sydney to inform district planning.

The main challenges were the diversity of locales across the Greater Sydney area and the inability to collect uniform data that allowed municipalities to be benchmarked against each other.

Data was collected from 42 different neighbourhoods across Greater Sydney.

Our comprehensive Amenities Mapping dataset was crucial in unveiling the diversity and variety of locales across Greater Sydney. This invaluable data shed light on strengths, assets previously hidden from stakeholders’ view, and uncovered new opportunities.

Municipalities particularly appreciated the newfound capability to benchmark their locales against others, marking a significant milestone in their efforts to assess and enhance their areas for the first time.
