Where are Australia's most well-loved arts & culture precincts?

Using our 'attractors' data sets, learn which Australian suburbs enjoy the highest number of Arts & Culture places.

One of the best parts of creating Australia-wide lifestyle data monthly, is getting to look across the country and ask ‘Which neighbourhood has the best Arts & Culture offering?’

Top amenities ranking in the Neighbourlytics platform

That question became so common that we decided to run the numbers and answer your questions: where are Australia’s most loved - open spaces, dining precincts, arts & culture hubs, community services.

How do we define 'well-loved'?

As a lifestyle data tool for place makers, we have designed our analytics to help you see the neighbourhood through locals' eyes. As part of this, we have developed a metric called "relevance", which is looking to quantify place attachment.

Learn more about our "relevance" scoring, and how we define place attachment in the first post from this series here

Read on to learn where the highest concentration of well-loved Arts & Culture businesses are located across Australia.

About our Methodology

  • Analysis undertaken using the “Attractors” data directly from the Neighbourlytics platform.
  • All analysis at a ‘whole of suburb’ level, and suburbs with a residential population less than 500, and total places count less than 150 were excluded.
  • Suburbs were ranked by the count of Arts & Culture businesses with a ‘relevance score’ of over 7.
  • Neighbourlytics’ ‘relevance score’ is a place attachment index calculated by examining the digital footprint of a local amenity - essentially how much community-driven digital activity is generated when people like, rate, follow, mention, checkin, and review the place.
